Our plans for Mottram Police Station.

Our plans are for fourteen high-quality, affordable, three-bedroom homes, with off-street and communal parking available.

We have worked closely with Tameside Borough Council on these plans to ensure these meet local housing needs.

We plan to make all 14 homes available for affordable rent, rent to buy or shared ownership, helping local people put down roots in the area.

The site.

Mottram Police Station was demolished 15 years ago and the site has been vacant ever since.

Our proposals would bring additional, much-needed affordable housing to the local area, suitable for couples and families.

Site plan

Access to the site.

All homes in the new development would be accessible by car from Atherton Road and Back Lane. An 8-space resident car park, for those homes without driveways, would be accessed directly from Atherton Road.

The area benefits from regular public transport to and from Manchester City Centre. The walk to Hattersley train station takes around 25 minutes, with car parking available. Glossop, the Peak District and Sheffield are all accessible via the nearby A57.

Environmental considerations.

As part of the planning process, we will carry out assessments of the local ecology, trees, the impact of noise and any risk of flooding. If we need to, we will put measures in place to minimise any impact from the development.

We are proposing for all homes on site to be built using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), which will see most elements built offsite in a factory environment before being assembled on site.

This means that we can reduce the amount of construction traffic and waste, while also helping us complete the homes far faster than using traditional methods.
