Double success at Northern Housing Awards
Onward Homes has been named Homebuilder of the Year at the prestigious Northern Housing Awards 2024. Our home improvement project in Murdishaw was also named Best Retrofit Initiative in the North over the last 12 months.
In total, Onward was nominated in six categories at the awards, which recognise the achievements of affordable housing providers and their partners right across the North.
Homebuilder of the Year
In our best ever year for housebuilding, Onward completed 329 affordable homes and started building a further 462. We also helped 101 people into affordable home ownership through our Onward Living brand, started our first development of factory-built homes and continued to build on our £600m Strategic Partnership with Homes England.
Best Retrofit Initiative – Murdishaw
In Runcorn, Onward invested £7.5m and sourced £1.4 million of external funding to improve the energy efficiency of 132 bungalows in our Murdishaw neighbourhood. This major retrofit project included installing new roofs, windows, doors, external & internal insultation and new ventilation systems, making customers’ homes warmer, quieter and more comfortable.
