Housing Perks app
We’re partnering with Housing Perks to give you access to discounts on your everyday shopping at over 100 shops and online stores.
Housing Perks is a free app offering up to a 20% discount at supermarkets, high street shops and online stores like ASDA, B&M, Sainsburys, Morrisons, Primark, Argos, TK Maxx and more.
Sign up to the Housing Perks app and get an extra 10% discount until 21st April 2025.
To get started, simply download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching for ‘Housing Perks’ on your mobile or tablet device. You’ll need your Tenancy Reference Number to hand when signing up, which you can find on the rent letters we send to you in February, via the My Onward Portal or by contacting us.

How does it work?
By using the app, you can choose to either:
- get a direct discount (paying £16 for a £20 voucher for example)
- put your discount into a pot which will automatically go towards your rent payments/arrears (paying £20 for a voucher and putting £4 in your rent account for example)
To get a direct discount, please follow the steps below:
- Open the Housing Perks app on your mobile or tablet device
- Search for and select the brand you would like to get discount for
- Enter the amount you would like to spend and press pay securely
- Check the information to make sure you are happy
- Choose how you want to pay for the discount voucher and make the payment
- The discount voucher will then appear in your wallet on the app
- View the discount voucher and use it in store or online
To put your discount into a pot towards your rent payments/arrears, please follow the steps below:
- After you’ve signed up to the Housing Perks app, tap the ‘Rent’ icon in the menu at the bottom of your screen.
- Then tap ‘Rent Contributions’
- Make sure it is set to ‘On’
- Once it is set to ‘On’, your savings will automatically be put towards your rent payments/arrears. This will happen every Friday.
How do I sign up?
- Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching for ‘Housing Perks’ on your mobile or tablet device.
- Enter your mobile phone number.
- You will be sent a One Time Passcode (OTP) via text message to confirm your mobile phone number. Once you have received your OTP, enter it into the app.
- When asked to choose your housing association, select ‘Onward’ from the drop-down list.
- Enter your Tenancy Reference Number, which you can find on the rent review information we send to you each February, via the My Onward Portal or by contacting us, along with your contact information.
Do I need to pay to join the Housing Perks app?
No, the app is free to download and join for Onward’s general needs, sheltered, supported and shared ownership customers.
Other than paying for the vouchers that you buy to spend at your chosen shop or online store, the app is completely free to use.
I’m a leaseholder or market rent customer. Can I sign up?
No, the Housing Perks app is only available to Onward’s general needs, sheltered, supported and shared ownership customers.

How do I pay for vouchers?
You can pay for vouchers within the Housing Perks app using your bank account details, Apple Pay or Google Pay.
How soon will I receive my voucher after I’ve purchased it?
Your voucher should appear in the wallet section of your app instantly after purchasing it. The average time is two seconds, but if you do experience any delays, please get in touch with Housing Perks by emailing support@yourhousingperks.com.
I have a £20 voucher but only spent £18. Do I lose my £2?
When you purchase a voucher, you can use it as many times as you need until the value has been spent. So no, you’ll be able to use your £2 the next time you make a purchase at that shop or online store.
I want to purchase a voucher for £9.50, is that possible?
Vouchers can only be purchased for the nearest pound. If you’re at a shop or making an online purchase, you can either:
- purchase a £10 voucher and use the 50p on your next shop
- purchase a £9 voucher and pay the remaining 50p using another payment method, such as card or cash
Can discounts be used in addition to loyalty cards and cashback?
Yes, the vouchers you purchase can help you save extra money on top of things like loyalty cards and cashback.
How long do vouchers last?
Most vouchers last up to two years, some even last up to three years. It’s always best to check the discount details within the app.
Is there a limit on how many vouchers I can purchase?
You can purchase as many vouchers as you like with no limits. We would advise purchasing vouchers as and when you need them.
Is the app secure?
Yes, the Housing Perks app is secure and certified by the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Centre.
My tenancy has just ended, can I still use the Housing Perks app?
The Housing Perks app is only available for current general needs, sheltered, supported and shared ownership customers, so you won’t be able to use it once your tenancy has ended.
I’m not very good with technology. Can you help?
If you need help accessing the Housing Perks app, please speak to any Onward colleague who will be happy to help. Alternatively, please contact us by emailing customerservices@onward.co.uk or calling 0300 555 0600.
Discount vouchers can be printed off, so you can ask a family member, friend or Scheme Manager (if you live in one of our Older Persons Schemes) to print off a voucher for you if needed.

Can I view my rent account through the Housing Perks app?
You can’t view your rent through the Housing Perks app. If you’d like to check your rent account, you can do so through the My Onward Portal.
Can I contact Onward through the Housing Perks app?
You can’t contact us through the Housing Perks app.

What information will Onward be able to see?
We can only see the total amount spent by all of customers. We’re not able to see the spending of any individual or household.
If you choose to use your discount toward your rent payments/arrears, we will be able to see how much you have saved through the app, but not where you have purchased vouchers for.
Will Onward share my personal details with Housing Perks?
The only information we will share with Housing Perks is your Tenancy Reference Number so you can sign up.
You don’t need to share your name, email address or home address, however, you will need to provide your mobile phone number when signing up.
